Amphibians
Amphibians are cold blooded (exothermic), have moist skin, have a metamorphose from juvenile to adult and
have some connection to water. There are currently 5,652 known species of amphibians in around the world.
Out of which only 521 are salamanders!
Worldwide amphibian populations are declining and in some cases even going extinct. In fact, about a third of all
the worldwide species are threated with extinction. There are a number of believed causes that include habitat
loss, over harvesting, climate change, pollution and fungus. To learn more and to see how you can help please

IMPORTANT: For the livelihood of our amphibians, the use of hand sanitizers is not permitted before handling
any amphibian. Please also be aware that due to their fragile nature amphibians are typically not suitable for very
