Frequently Asked Party Questions

Will you just being passing animals around or is there something more?
Yes, there is more :)  We bring out animals individually and talk about them. The children have an opportunity to ask questions
about the different kinds of animals or share a personal experience. Topics that we may cover include:

General information (i.e. life span, diet, adult size, general temperament)
Natural habitat
Adaptations
Defenses
Classification and its characteristics (mammals, reptiles, etc)

All information is age appropriate and can be guided by the children's interests.

When should I book my show?
The earlier you book the better. Many dates are currently booking a month or two in advance.
We strongly recommend that party guests arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before your show.

Get Your Monies Worth Tip
For shows being held before a major meal time (lunch/dinner hours), please provide guests, especially younger ones, with
small snacks that would be finished before the presentation. Many children live on a dining schedule and find it difficult to
concentrate when a regular meal time approaches.
The best number of participants is between 5 and 15. Having over 15 participants will greatly decrease the amount of
holding/patting time and the total amount of animals we may see.
Have a special place away from the show for guests who do not want to participate. This way your participating guests will be
able to hear the handlers better - and the animals will be happier, too!

Do you need me to provide parking?
Yes, for the health and well being of the animals, we need parking close to the event. This is especially true in the cold and
hot months of the year.

Can I change WHERE my event will be held AFTER I've booked my party?
Please let us know as soon as possible if you decide to change the location of your party. Please be advised that from time
to time, we may NOT be able to accommodate your venue change.

Can you tentatively hold my date and time?
We will only hold a date and time for 24 hours. After 24 hours, we will open the space back up.

How much space do you need?
We need enough space for:
Enough "bottom" space on the ground so that all participants can be seated in a semi circle on the floor comfortably. We'll
hide and stack our animals behind us.

How and when do I pay?
Payment is to be made on the day of the presentation by cash or cheque. Please make cheques payable to Creature
Quest.  Thank you.

What about allergies and phobias?
Please ask your guests about any allergies (fur, nut, etc) or phobias they may have when you send our your invitations. And
let our staff know about these allergies/phobias so we can make accommodations where possible.
TREE NUT AND PEANUT ALLERGY ALERT: we cannot guarantee that our animals have not come in contact with tree nuts
or peanuts. Although we do not feed any of our mammals, reptiles, arthropods or amphibians tree nuts or peanuts, the food
that we do give them may have come in contact with tree nuts or peanuts where they were manufactured or packaged.
Please be advised that our birds are fed a variety of seeds and nuts. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Will I see all of the animals that I selected? How many animals will we see in total?
We try our hardest to ensure that the animals that you selected will make it to your party. However,  we cannot make any
guarantees.
For a 40 minute show, you will see at least 6 animals. For a 60 minute show, you will see at least 8 animals.

If the weather is nice, can I hold the show OUTDOORS?
No, we require an indoor space to hold the show. Please ensure that any door that leads to the outdoors from the room where the show is being held is shut. Thank you.

Photos? Hand-washing? What do I need to know during the party?
Flash photography is welcome.
Adults are welcome to hold the animals too.
Everyone's hands MUST be washed with soapy water before and after the show.
We ask that participants remain seated during the duration of the presentation.
No eating or drinking by the participants during the presentation.
Noise should be kept to a minimum.
Please refrain from using hand sanitizers during the show. They can be harmful to our amphibian friends.
