As our cities grow, we are becoming less and less familiar and more fearful of the plants and animals that share our Earth with us. At the same time these plants and animals are becoming extinct due to humanity. Through these interactive programs, we hope to disperse our fears so we can conserve our future.

Programs By Grade
ALL GRADES Owls Throughout history, people have viewed owls in many lights from a symbol of wisdom and intelligence an omen of madness or death. No doubt that these mysterious, well camouflaged nocturnal hunters are still capturing our imaginations today. We will explore the characteristics, calls, behaviours and habitats of owls that make this world their home.
Just for fun! The title may say 'just for fun' but that does not mean that we will not be learning anything! Geography, habitats, adaptations will all be discussed as we meet each animal.
GRADE 1 Sense-abilities Life Systems Discover the fascinating variations in sensory abilities of different animals, including, humans, and how they use their senses in order to meet their basic needs in their environment
It's ALIVE! Now what does it need to survive? Life Systems Learn to identify living things and non-living things then explore the basic needs of animals.
Life of birds Life Systems and Earth and Space Systems Flock into the world of birds. We will identify the needs and characteristics of various birds throughout their life cycles.
GRADE 2 Animal classifications Life Systems We will explore the typical physical and life cycle characteristics of the 5 vertebrate classes in this program. Invertebrates may be touched on.
Life Cycles Life Systems A delightful introduction into the various ways animals change their appearance and activities as they move through a complete life cycle.
Amazing adaptations Life Systems All animals have adaptations that help them thrive in their habitat. We will investigate the physical and behavioural adaptations of animals from several different habitats.
GRADE 3 Who needs plants? Life Systems Plants and animals, including humans, depend on each other for survival. Learn how we help each other and what environmental conditions may threaten our survival.
GRADE 4 Habitats and communities Life Systems What makes a good habitat? Students will discuss the characteristics that make each habitat special and the basic needs a habitat provides its inhabitants. We will explore several habitats and meet the animals that can be found there.
Food chains Life Systems We all need energy to move and grow so let's take a look at who is eating whom. What is a carnivore, omnivore or herbivore? Learn the answers while meeting the real life players in the ecosystem energy flow!
Amazing adaptations Life Systems All animals have adaptations that help them thrive in their habitat. We will investigate the physical and behavioural adaptations of animals from several different habitats and see how each animal's unique feature and interesting behaviours help it survive.
GRADE 6 Animal Classifications Life Systems Why do we classify things and how do we do it? We will explore physical characteristics of the 5 vertebrate classes in this program. Can we trick you?
Outstanding arthropods Life Systems Creep into the spineless world of arthropods and discover what makes these animals so fascinating.
GRADE 7 Food chains Life Systems Meet the players in the ecosystems energy flow to discover the roles and interactions of producers, consumers and decomposers within an ecosystem and determine the effects of the elimination of any part of the chain.
